Daymares can ruin your life!
March 23, 2009There is a quote that I really like – Although I have no Idea where it came from…
“Its OK to be afraid, It’s NOT OK to let the fear stop you”
I find that I spend so much of my time thinking, worrying, ruminating – Whatever you want to call it. I worry about everything, and find that I can really freak myself out. I end up thinking about the different end results possible through all types of scenarios. Kind of like daydreaming, I guess, just a lot less pleasant! I suffer from “daymares”, and I don’t want to let myself “hold back” out of fear of what might, could, would possibly happen. I believe that it can actually change the course of your life, limit who you become, or even change your path in life. Depending of course on the degree of fear that Is making you worry. It controls you. Living your life by “what if’s”, IS NOT very freeing. Talk about losing your creative edge!

I totally agree!
I just happened across your blog while doing a search for “daymares,” because it is something I am interested in.
My solution to battle my daymares was to start my dream journal and record them. The first thing I learned was that they weren’t happening anywhere nearly as often as I thought! The second was that they surfaced when I was tired, and that they can be more amusing than scary when you start keeping track.
Finally, once I started blogging about them, they lost their control over me. Half the time, when one starts up, the thought “I have to write this down!” ends it right there.
Come on over and see what I’m talking about, and thank you for your thoughts
I checked over your blog a little bit, and I must say, I did the “Oh my gosh – That exactly what i do!” thing while reading over your welcome post. It was your definition of a “snarl” that got me going. I’ve descibed this to people before, and they have said “Why? Just shut your mind off”. MmmHmm.. Yeah, sure, lucky for them, if its so easy to do. I guess for some it is, but not for me. I just can’t get over how you descibed it – I’ve done that while driving, eating, before (trying to) sleep. And, just about anything can set me off on that track. I love the imagery with “day mare” or “night mare”. You can see some lovely, interesting pictures.
So far, I like your blog, I’ll read some, and if I start jumping up and down, I’ll let you know! ~M
